Last Thursday, I had the honour of capturing Brianna and Michael’s wedding – a day filled with warmth, history, and the deepest sense of family. Their journey began in the modern world of online dating, meeting on Hinge when Michael cheekily offered to buy Brianna a coffee after seeing her fun fact that she once made David Beckham his coffee. It turned out to be the best cup he ever bought, as their first date at a cosy coffee shop in Bowral lasted so long they were eventually kicked out at closing time.
Fast forward four years, countless adventures across South Korea, Bali, Europe, and Australia, promotions, personal milestones, and quiet evenings with their beloved dogs Ruby and Winnie – and here they were, promising forever in the Church at Gharb where Brianna’s grandfather grew up. Their morning preparations were filled with calm excitement, with Michael getting ready at The Hillock South and Brianna at the beautiful Villa Bernardette in Xagħra. Brianna looked radiant in her Tom Sebastien dress, with flawless hair and makeup by Shylon Micallef and Adriana Sciculuna, complemented by custom-made rings from Sara Handmade Jewellery.
After their heartfelt ceremony at Gharb, we roamed its timeless streets for portraits before heading to Terrace Alba where guests enjoyed welcome drinks and emotional speeches. As the sun dipped lower, we ventured to the iconic Saltpans for golden hour portraits – an unmissable backdrop that highlighted their love of travel, history, and nature’s quiet beauty. Their day was brought to life by the music of Rebecca and the Passengers, beautiful floral arrangements by Charmaine at Xerri Garden Centre, and elegant decorations by Mercica Events and Marlina Reception Details.
Their first dance, Jason Aldean’s You Make It Easy, summed up their journey perfectly – two people who make love look effortless. As fireworks lit up the Gozo sky, I couldn’t help but reflect on what Brianna shared earlier: how special it was to have their nearest and dearest travel to the place that means so much to them to witness the start of their lives together. Capturing this day was witnessing two souls who built a love rooted in little everyday moments: shared dinners, quiet sunsets with wine, and the unspoken promise to always be each other’s home.
