I have the pleasure to host on my blog and interview the Event Specialist, one of the best wedding planners in Malta. The event specialist offer both an on the day planning service and also as a wedding organiser.
Can you tell us a bit about the team at The Event Specialist and how it came into being?
The Team of the Event specialist is made up of 4 people. JeanPierre Chircop the founder of the company and the event specialist himself, Myself Tesmarie who mostly takes care of weddings and corporate events, Jasmin who is incharge of Destination Weddings Malta, who makes part of the Event Specialist, but mostly dedicated for foreigners who want to get married on our beautiful island. Moreover we have Matthew, who joins us when we have huge weddings and would require a bigger team on board, as he is very knowledgeable on banqueting and events.
What would you say is the most satisfying and the most difficult part of your work as a wedding planner?
Satisfying! Well that's obvious, seeing our clients and newly wed couples happy, satisfied and without a worry in the world, enjoying their weddings!
The most difficult part would be when we have finalised a wedding and we would by then be really good friends with the couples and we have to say our goodbyes!
Are there any particular types of weddings you specialize in or particularly enjoy planning?
Last Year we really enjoyed planning one of the biggest jewish weddings that ever happened in Malta, it was very challenging but we were up to it, and couldn't be happier with how happy and satisfied the newlyweds were! We love planning garden weddings and beach weddings, and lately we have taken up some big weddings in heritage sites in Malta, I believe that because we have a very close team, big weddings like these for us are easy to handle!
What makes Malta an ideal location for a wedding?
The Lovely weather 300days a year! A winter wedding in the sun, what more can we say! Also if you have event planners like us you can find really good deals and offers whilst having amazing views of the maltese islands!
What are the benefits of hiring a wedding planner in Malta?
As mentioned above, we know the trick of the trade, we event planners know most of the suppliers around, and due to the small size of the country we most probably woudl have also worked with them, so we have knowledge on alot of suppliers and people that we are more than happy to share with couples, as well as offers from certain suppliers, and ideas on remote locations of where couples can get married!
What should couples consider when selecting a wedding venue in Malta?
The venue itslef, if it has indoor or outdoor space, if it's oudoor the accessibility and most importantly the venue's view at night! some venues can be very magical at night with very little light!
What type and range of services do you provide for couples planning a wedding in Malta?
We have both Wedding planning packages, and on the day coordination packages, moreover we cater for foreigners who want to get married here in Malta, elope or even renew their vows! Also we have just launched a new package, for weddings in Sicily !
What types of wedding themes are currently popular for weddings in Malta?
Well garden and vineyard weddings are always a dream, moreover we have been seeing heritage sites become quite a hit also, such as Fort Sant Iermu and Baracca gardens.
What are some unique experiences that you can share with us which you acquired through your work as a wedding planned in Malta?
Unique experiences we have many but two of the most recent ones are the jewish wedding we have done, and also we have done an intimate civil wedding for a british couple with maltese ancestors, who just wanted to enjoy their moment at the Lower Baracca garden, with some of their families and friends drinking a couple of local beers! It was truly an experience!
What tips or advice would you give to couples who are considering getting married in Malta?
You do really need a wedding planner, to make sure you fully enjoy your day and wedding, we know you love to plan and we allow for this, as our work depends on your likings and dreams, but trust me you need all the help you can get to make sure that nothing is missing and that ultimately the Wedding day is about the love between the couple and the fun and joy it brings with when celebrated with friends and families, so let us do the dirty work so you can dance the night away!
