Some weddings feel like a celebration. Others feel like an experience. Alex and Jackson’s wedding at Villa Mon Repos in Taormina, Sicily was undoubtedly the latter, a breathtaking destination wedding where every detail, every view, and every moment came together to create something unforgettable.

Perched above the Ionian Sea, with sweeping views of the Sicilian coastline, Villa Mon Repos provided the perfect setting for a wedding that was both elegant and deeply personal. Friends and family had travelled from around the world to celebrate with Alex and Jackson, transforming the occasion into a joyful gathering of loved ones in one of Italy’s most beautiful destinations.

The day began slowly within the villa itself, where preparations unfolded against a backdrop of Mediterranean gardens and endless sea views. Alex was surrounded by an incredible bridal party of eleven bridesmaids, creating an atmosphere that was both emotional and full of excitement. Throughout the morning, there was a wonderful sense of anticipation as everyone prepared for the moments ahead.

One of the defining features of the day was the series of first looks. Before the ceremony, Alex shared private moments with her bridesmaids, her father, his brothers, and finally Jackson. These encounters created some of the most emotional memories of the day. Away from the guests, Alex and Jackson also exchanged personal vows, allowing them a quiet moment together before the celebrations officially began.

As guests gathered around the villa's iconic pool, the ceremony took place on a striking white platform built across the water. With the sea stretching into the distance and the Sicilian sun beginning its descent, Alex and Jackson exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and an atmosphere that felt almost cinematic.

Following the ceremony, everyone came together for a celebratory group photograph before moving into cocktail hour. Aperitifs were served in front of the villa while guests enjoyed the views, music, and relaxed atmosphere that destination weddings do so well. This also gave us the opportunity to explore the villa's grounds with Alex and Jackson, creating portraits that combined the grandeur of the venue with the intimacy of their connection.

As evening approached, guests were invited to take their seats beneath twinkling lights for dinner. The round tables and the warm Sicilian evening created a magical setting as laughter and conversation filled the night. Between courses, we slipped away briefly to capture sunset portraits, taking advantage of the golden Mediterranean light that Taormina is famous for.

The celebrations continued with a spectacular cake cutting accompanied by the villa and drawing cheers from guests. Moments later, Alex and Jackson took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, followed by parent dances and an evening of celebration that carried on well into the early hours.

What made this wedding truly special was not just the stunning venue or the incredible setting, but the genuine connection between Alex and Jackson and the people who surrounded them. Every part of the day felt intentional, heartfelt, and filled with love.

Their wedding was a beautiful reminder of why destination weddings are so memorable — bringing together the people who matter most in an extraordinary place to celebrate something extraordinary.
