During my wedding photography journey, I have had the opportunity to be inspired by some amazing photographers and humans. However I feel that Fer Juaristi’s work stands out due to its simplicity, honesty and emotional feel.
I met Fer in person two years ago at a 2 day workshop in Italy - I was immediately struck by his openness and honesty. The more I heard him on podcasts, saw his work and heard about him from third party sources - the more I realised that I needed to invite him to Malta to shoot a wedding with me and continue to learn from him.
I am now a week after that Fer has arrived in Malta, shot with me, mentored me and I had to journal about this profond experience. The simplicity he walks into anything is amazing and I felt so much at each with him around. It really felt that I had found a lost brother from the art universe which could understand my thoughts, what I needed and make it personal.
Fer is also an amazing human, he was kind enough to accept the invitation and come all the way to Malta to shoot with me and be flexible as to the wedding flow. On the second day, we met at the apartment and talked for hours on my work, future ideas and also shot another session with my friends.
These were two of the best days in my photography journey and meeting such a down to earth legend meant so much to me. Thanks again Fer, I hope we meet up again soon!
